The Ingonyama Rural Development Forum (IRDForum), in collaboration with Ingonyama Trust Board (ITB) and Ingabadi Group, organised a Colloquium on Rural Development in KwaZulu-Natal. The theme of the Colloquium is “Charting Progress and Mapping the Future”.  The IRDForum constitutes an informal network of traditional leaders, experts, research institutions, businesses and policy makers united under the rubric of rural development. Since its inauguration, the IRDForum has endeavoured to operationalise the re-conceptualised approach to rural development in KwaZulu-Natal.  It has done so within the context of government’s economic development paradigm which identifies rural development as a key driver to economic change in terms of achieving household food security, alleviating or possibly eradicating rural poverty, and creating economic prosperity in rural areas.

About Ingabadi Events
At Ingabadi Group we understand capacity development as an ongoing process, requiring the unleashing of a continuous supply of appropriate legal, institutional and human resources. In working with policy makers, legislatures, government departments and political parties in Africa, we have discovered a huge capacity deficit in our private and public sector including lack of education, knowledge, information to perform mandated functions efficiently and effectively. In response to the challenge, we regularly organise and host conferences, colloquiums and workshops on key public policy, global politics and economy, and international relations issues, and also contribute to political economy debates in numerous ways.
